Shiny Sink!

A friend of mine recently taught a mini class on organization. I'm NOT organized. I'm a wannabe organized neat freak. Wannabe being the most important word. Most of the time, my house is filled with empty snack wrappers, dirty and clean clothes alike - strewn about the room I'm sure - and toys galore! But, my friend is a Flybaby of sorts and does things from the Flylady.

I decided to do it! I can do it right? Right. So, I've been shining my sink and keeping my kitchen clean. YEAH! I've also realized that I never actually cleaned WITH my children so they know HOW to clean things. Nice huh? Ask them to clean and they don't so you get mad. Right? Yeah, they don't know what they're doing either. lol Game plan then, is to clean every room, every thing and spot. Take a picture of it and write detailed instructions. Put them in sheet protectors and into a binder where they can grab the page for the room they are doing and follow the instructions and look at the pictures to make sure it's clean!

I'll have to help them the first few times, but I need to make sure they KNOW HOW! lol Life is great huh?

Spring Comes....for the Moment.

Today was B-E-A-Utiful! Amazing weather....so amazing.. I even shaved my legs. I know! Amazing. I was resigned to do the dishes because we had accumulated quite the stack since Honey has been living at work recently. lol After a while, I realized I was starring at the wall. Bare space. I knew my Honey had mentioned that he wished there was a window there, but I didn't really think about it. So, I MADE a window of sorts.

What do you think? lol I like the polka dots myself! lol It's just pinned together...sort of a trial run to see what Honey thinks of it.

We also had some outside time...which I was fought tooth and nail, but of course I won. And? "Mom, we love being outside!" Uh huh. I know. You just forgot what sun was like. It's ok little snow babies. I will free you from your frozen cocoon and release the brilliant colored butterflies that you are. lol

Ah...even Atlas is out in the sun. Of course I had to chain him up too. Gosh. I hope they appreciate the sun more when they realize how little we have of it. I need to get Chickie out, but she was sleeping at the time.

Kitchen Transformation!!!

So, I decided that if I wanted a happy honey (and really, who doesn't) then I should work on the kitchen. Down the stairs I went, full of renewed energy and desire to please my dear and wonderful husband when I was greeted with this.

 I know. I'd cry too...I think I might have.

Well, I put my shoulder to the wheel and dug in. It was hard! Not really, but mainly because I DIDN'T WANT TO DO IT. But, when my honey came home and was thrilled with "what I could set my mind to", I guess it was worth it.

Sorry the pictures are wonky. You're supposed to keep the camera at the same angle, but that's hard with this in your arms. lol

Also, Happy Birthday to my Mom and Dad!!!

Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man!

So, my honey is AMAZING! I'm sure you knew that. If you remember "the thing" in the kitchen, it has water and ice but it wasn't hooked up. In fact, the house didn't have the plumbing to hook up a refrigerator with water and ice. Lovely.
Super Honey to the rescue! (I KNOW! Hot.)

He got "dawn" and dirty! lol (slapping knee)

It didn't take him long to get the piping all set up and with a little help from Moi, it was done!

Ah. Water. Now this is quality H2O.

The Thing!

When we purchased our home, it didn't have a stove, a dryer and a refrigerator. So, we decided we would buy a new fridge and get the other two off of craigslist. Having that decided, away we went to scout out our new fridge. We went to Sears, Kirkish, and online. So many choices! French doors. bottom freezer, top freezer, NO freezer, ice maker, water dispenser, 5 shelves, 4 shelves, white, black, stainless steel.....ugh. I think I was burnt out at our first stop!

My Honey insisted on black. He wanted black appliances...it's cool or something. Anyways, so that narrowed it down to 1/2 a million choices. Also, he wanted a freezer - which is something we had missed in our previous house since we only had a GIANT fridge and our little deep freezer. Next, it "HAD" to have a water dispenser and an ice maker. (Wow, Honey had a list!) Not only that, it had to be a certain size too. He didn't want a small fridge.

Well, we had to wait until we actually HAD the house to purchase our fridge so we waited. The time came and Honey casually announced one evening that he was stopping by Sears on the way home from work to look and he'll call me if he finds a good deal. Ok. Got it. He'll call. 30 minutes later? No call. Ok, he didn't find anything worth-wile. A little bit later, I get a call! "Hey, I kind of bought the fridge." WHAT!? WHAT HAPPENED TO "I'LL CALL"????

 Breathe.

"That's great honey! Did you take a picture?"

"Oh, um no. But you can look it up online!"

 What? I don't even get a picture!?

"Ok, are you on your way home?"

"Yep! See ya soon"

And that's how Honey bought our fridge. Little did I know how it would be.

Here's the space for the fridge. Not a whole lot of room, but then again, I wasn't worried.

Then, the day comes when it is to be delivered. They BARELY get it through our door  - and that is with the doors OFF! It was actually quite hilarious as they cursed the people who designed the fridge saying, "Who designed this thing?!" (person 2) "Someone who didn't have to take it apart and put it back together" (person 1).

It's shiny!!

Honey now has his water dispenser... of course the house isn't set up for such a fridge, but I know he'll be taking care of that soon.

So much space!!!!
Yeah for the fridge. To be honest, I am glad I don't have to go out on our porch and dig through our coolers for the jelly. It's nice. I shouldn't complain so .......Hooray for the fridge.
